Jan Levine: Game 27: NYR-NYI, hello, Borough neighbor. 3-2-1 point system, Stats debate
Several topics covered - airjan23
It's good to see Buch close to returning. Hrivik dressing is a pretty telling sign of the teams non interest in Lindberg, who really is kind of just, there. No real energy in his game besides that big hit a week or so ago he threw I think in the Ottawa game. Lets see what Hrivik can do tonight subbing for Grabner. R.I.P. Grandma Grabner. |

Going to the flyers game tonight with the kids i coach. they will be looking at the out of town scoreboard the entire night waiting to jump on me if we go down. wonder if i should make a wager with them if the rangers win and the flyers lose and vice versa ha |

I would love a 3-2-1 point system...would make the ends of games more exciting |
|
|
|
The current point system is garbage! All games needed to be worth the same number of total points. 3 points for a regulation win and then split the 3 points for OT or shootout decided games. Why should a game but decided in regulation award out more points then one decided in regulation? |

I wonder how serious the league will look at this, I mean it does make sense, but the integrity of the point system & records will certainly be smashed w 3 points being earned for a "full" victory, teams that are very good will be shattering the points for a season record. Small gripe. |

I really liked the old way when if you lost in OT, you LOST, NO points for you. |

The problem with the current system is that it gives the teams that aren't so good a chance to look better and maybe make the playoffs. Its like a false sense of success. For that reason alone I don't think Bettpoleon will make any changes so that the weaker teams have a fighting chance. |

I think that is the major draw to the current point system (for them) as well...it is annoying that they have to fake competition, when really it is a myth. Teams look close but they cant pass anyone, 3 point games would in theory make it possible for a team to make up a lot of ground if they get hot |

with Zibinajed, Buchnevich and now Grabner out, in a December 6th game, all I care about is finding a way to get the 2 points.
I don't care what it looks like
I think the games in March leading into the playoffs are a much more important time to see which way the possession stats are leaning.

I feel it would push teams to be better and to be run better by making them as bad as they really are instead of helping them look better. |

Rangers win and Flyer's lose... Go Karts and Ice cream this weekend
Both win, just ice cream
Both lose, nothing, its a push, go do chores.
Flyer's win and Rags lose, (frank) it, No Christmas for you
I shouldn't become a parent |
